UAE Ministry Denies Claims Of Any $3 Billion Fund Transfer To Iran

UAE denies claims of transferring $3 billion to Iran.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday firmly denied reports alleging that it had transferred $3 billion in funds to Iran, calling the claims “entirely false and unfounded.” The clarification came after certain international media outlets reported alleged financial transfers involving frozen Iranian assets, prompting the UAE government to issue an official rebuttal.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically rejected the allegations, stating that no frozen Iranian funds have been released, transferred, or facilitated through the country. The ministry emphasized that the reports circulating in the media do not reflect reality and have no basis in fact.

The UAE government further urged media organisations to maintain accuracy in reporting and to rely on verified official sources before publishing or disseminating sensitive financial or diplomatic claims. It warned against the spread of unverified information, noting that such reports can contribute to misinformation and unnecessary diplomatic speculation.

The clarification comes amid heightened regional sensitivity surrounding Iran’s financial assets and ongoing international negotiations involving sanctions, frozen funds, and potential diplomatic agreements. Financial interactions involving Iranian assets remain closely monitored by multiple global stakeholders due to their geopolitical implications.

Officials reiterated that the UAE continues to adhere strictly to international financial regulations and transparency standards. The statement underscores Abu Dhabi’s position that it has not engaged in any activity related to the release or transfer of restricted Iranian funds.

The denial is expected to add clarity to the evolving information landscape, as conflicting reports continue to emerge across international media regarding financial and diplomatic developments involving Iran and regional actors.
