Trump Declares Iran Strikes Biggest, Most Complex in American History

In Truth Social video, Trump called Operation Epic Fury a massive effort to dismantle Iran's missiles, nukes, and regime.

President Donald Trump described the recent US strikes on Iran as the "largest, most complex military offensives" in recent history, hailing the operation as a resounding success against the Iranian regime.

Speaking publicly after the February 28, 2026, airstrikes that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Trump emphasized the scale of Operation Epic Fury, involving multiple aircraft carriers, Tomahawk missiles, and coordinated attacks on IRGC sites, nuclear facilities, and missile depots. CENTCOM footage released earlier showcased launches from the USS Abraham Lincoln and precision hits, with Trump claiming the actions neutralized imminent threats and dismantled key regime infrastructure. He warned Iran against retaliation, urging its forces to stand down amid vows from Tehran for revenge.

The remarks follow Iran's missile strikes on US bases in the Gulf and Israel, escalating tensions that prompted US travel advisories for Bahrain and Qatar at Level 3, advising citizens to reconsider travel. In India, PM Narendra Modi chaired a Cabinet Committee on Security meeting to address stranded nationals and West Asia fallout, after urging Israeli PM Netanyahu to prioritize civilian safety.

Trump's characterization underscores his administration's aggressive stance, building on prior 2025 strikes that he said "obliterated" Iranian nuclear sites, though intelligence assessments noted partial damage. Critics question the long-term strategy, as the Pentagon limits sustained campaigns to 7-10 days due to munitions constraints.

Delhi saw protests over Khamenei's death, with security tightened, while global markets reel from Strait of Hormuz disruptions threatening India's oil imports. India's balanced diplomacy continues amid calls for de-escalation.

As Iran enters a 40-day mourning and leadership transition, Trump's words signal readiness for further action if provoked, heightening fears of broader conflict. World leaders monitor closely, with evacuation efforts ramping up.
