PM Modi to Address Three BJP Rallies Across Assam Ahead of April 9 Assembly Elections
PM Modi campaigns across three Assam districts today ahead of April 9 assembly elections.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address three election rallies across Assam on Monday as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) final push ahead of the April 9 state assembly elections. Modi’s visits are aimed at energising party workers and voters in key constituencies, consolidating support for BJP candidates, and reinforcing the party’s campaign message in the crucial last days before polling. The rallies are expected to draw large crowds, reflecting the high stakes of the upcoming polls in Assam.
The first rally will take place at Bhabanipur-Sorbhog in Lower Assam’s Barpeta district, where Modi will campaign for state minister Ranjeet Kumar Das. Following this, he will head to Hojai in central Assam to support BJP candidate Shiladitya Dev. The Prime Minister’s final event of the day will be in Dibrugarh, Upper Assam, where he will rally voters for state minister Prasanta Phukan. Each venue has been strategically chosen based on its electoral significance and the competitive nature of the constituencies.
This visit marks Modi’s second appearance in Assam during this election season. Earlier, on April 1, he had addressed rallies at Gogamukh and Behali and met with women tea garden workers in Dibrugarh. During these interactions, he emphasized the party’s development agenda, local employment initiatives, and welfare schemes targeting women and youth. Analysts believe these grassroots engagements are aimed at strengthening the BJP’s voter base, especially among first-time voters and rural communities.

Campaigning in Assam will officially conclude on Wednesday, leaving voters with just a few days to make decisions at the ballot box. The state will vote for all 126 assembly constituencies on April 9, with counting scheduled for May 4. Political experts note that Assam’s elections are likely to be closely contested, with the BJP, Congress, and regional parties competing fiercely in both urban and rural constituencies. The Prime Minister’s rallies are expected to influence undecided voters and provide a boost to party candidates in tight races.
With multiple constituencies witnessing intense competition, Modi’s presence at three rallies in one day demonstrates the party’s strategy to energise supporters and maintain momentum. Observers highlight that these rallies also serve as a platform for the BJP to showcase its development record, engage with local leaders, and project a unified campaign narrative ahead of the elections. Voter turnout, public engagement, and the Prime Minister’s speeches in the coming days are likely to play a decisive role in shaping Assam’s political landscape.
