PM Modi Says Global Attention Is Increasingly Focused On Youth Power Today

Prime Minister highlights youth as key force shaping future.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the global community is increasingly recognising India's youth potential and emphasised that the government's priority is to convert that potential into meaningful opportunities through employment and skill development initiatives. He made the remarks while addressing an event in the national capital shortly after returning from overseas visits.

Speaking after disbursing incentives worth Rs 2,400 crore to 15 lakh first-time employees and their employers, Modi highlighted the role of the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) in strengthening employment generation. He said the scheme was designed to help young people enter the workforce and connect them with industry opportunities at a time when India's demographic advantage is drawing global attention.

"The world is discussing India's Yuva Shakti and has started recognising the potential of India's youth," the Prime Minister said. He added that the government's efforts are focused on ensuring every young person is able to transform their capabilities into opportunities and contribute to the country's long-term development goals.

Modi reiterated the government's commitment to supporting young people in achieving their aspirations and playing a central role in building a developed India by 2047. Referring to PM-VBRY, he said the initiative has already facilitated the creation of more than 70 lakh jobs, underscoring its importance in expanding employment opportunities across sectors.

The Prime Minister noted that collaboration between the government, industry and the youth can significantly accelerate job creation. According to him, the scheme not only supports employers who generate new jobs but also acts as a bridge between first-time job seekers and businesses looking to expand their workforce. He said this partnership-based approach is essential for sustaining economic growth and improving employment outcomes.

Highlighting the broader objectives of the programme, Modi said PM-VBRY seeks to empower first-time employees while building a stronger and more future-ready workforce. He added that by encouraging formal employment and strengthening links between young workers and industry, the initiative aims to support both individual career growth and the country's long-term economic development.
