PM Modi Addresses Indian Diaspora In Netherlands On India’s Growth Aspirations
PM Modi tells diaspora India aspires to be world’s growth engine.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing members of the Indian diaspora in The Hague during his visit to the Netherlands, said India’s aspirations are “unlimited” and its efforts to achieve growth and global leadership are becoming equally boundless, adding that the country is positioning itself as the “world’s growth engine.”Speaking to the Indian community, the Prime Minister highlighted the historic and cultural ties between India and the Netherlands, describing The Hague as a global symbol of peace and justice.
He said the city had become a “living sign of Indian friendship,” reflecting the strong bilateral relationship and the growing presence of the Indian diaspora in Dutch society.Modi conveyed greetings to the diaspora on behalf of 1.4 billion Indians and praised their role in preserving cultural traditions while contributing significantly to the economy and social fabric of the Netherlands. He said Indians abroad continue to remain deeply connected to their roots while also strengthening India’s global image through their achievements and engagement.
Emphasising India’s rapid transformation in recent years, the Prime Minister pointed to major national initiatives that he said reflect the scale and ambition of the country’s development journey. He referred to India hosting large global events, including the G20 Summit and a major artificial intelligence summit, describing them as evidence of India’s growing organisational capacity and international leadership.

He also highlighted flagship programmes such as digital identity systems, financial inclusion initiatives, and government-backed health insurance schemes, saying these represent the scale of India’s governance reforms. Modi added that India’s progress in space exploration, including missions reaching previously unexplored regions of the Moon, demonstrates the country’s expanding scientific capabilities.The Prime Minister further noted the transformation in India’s manufacturing sector, particularly in electronics.
He said India has moved from being a major importer of mobile phones a decade ago to becoming the world’s second-largest producer, reflecting significant growth in domestic manufacturing and technological capacity.PM Modi concluded by reiterating that India’s development trajectory is driven by “limitless aspirations,” and said the country’s ongoing reforms and global engagement are aimed at strengthening its position as a leading economic and technological force in the coming years.
