PM Modi Addresses Bengal Rally, Highlights Anti-Corruption And Development Promises
PM Modi praises Bengal rally crowds and promises anti-corruption action if BJP forms government.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a political rally in East Burdwan district on Saturday, where he made a series of remarks targeting the ruling Trinamool Congress and outlining key promises of the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections. The comments were made during an election campaign event held amid heightened political activity in the state.
During his speech, Modi highlighted the large turnout at his rally, stating that the level of public enthusiasm in West Bengal exceeded what he had witnessed even in his home state of Gujarat. He suggested that such gatherings reflected a strong desire for political change in the state and described the crowd response as an indication of shifting public sentiment ahead of the polls scheduled later this month.
The Prime Minister also alleged that if the Bharatiya Janata Party comes to power in West Bengal, the new government would publish a white paper detailing instances of corruption over the past 15 years under the Trinamool Congress administration. He accused the ruling party of mismanagement and corruption, claims that form a central theme of the opposition’s campaign rhetoric.

Addressing welfare policies, Modi asserted that existing welfare schemes in the state would not be discontinued under a potential BJP government. He further stated that the administration would instead focus on eliminating corruption. He also reiterated a promise to implement the central government’s Government of India healthcare initiative, the Ayushman Bharat scheme, in West Bengal if the BJP assumes power.
In addition, the Prime Minister spoke about concerns related to illegal infiltration and alleged irregularities in identity documentation. He said that a future BJP government would take strict action against infiltrators as well as individuals accused of facilitating their settlement in the state. The West Bengal Assembly elections are set to be held in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with results scheduled for May 4.
