Meerut Tragedy! House Roof Collapses in Storm, Mother and Infant Killed
Two Family Members Killed in Meerut Roof Collapse Amid Storm
A tragic roof collapse claimed the lives of a mother and her infant daughter in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Friday evening, triggered by a fierce storm in the Lisadi Gate Police Station area, police reported. Three other family members sustained injuries in the incident, which occurred in Ahmednagar Gali No. 15.
The victims, identified as Rukhsar (25) and her nine-month-old daughter Mahira, were buried under debris when a neighbor’s wall, destabilized by strong winds, fell onto their home, causing the roof to cave in, according to SHO Subhash Chandra Gautam.
Local residents swiftly initiated rescue efforts, extracting the trapped family members. Rukhsar and Mahira were rushed to the district hospital in critical condition but were declared dead on arrival. The three injured relatives are receiving treatment and are reported to be stable.
