Gurugram Police Arrest Medanta Technician in Air Hostess ICU Sexual Assault Case
A 25-year-old hospital technician, Deepak, was arrested by Gurugram Police on Friday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 46-year-old air hostess in the ICU of Medanta Hospital on April 6, 2025.
The breakthrough came after a Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed a day earlier, analyzed footage from 800 CCTV cameras and questioned 50 hospital staff, including doctors, police said.
The air hostess, admitted on April 5 after a near-drowning incident during a training program, alleged in her complaint that the assault occurred while she was on a ventilator, semi-conscious, and unable to resist.

She claimed two nurses present did not intervene. Discharged on April 13, she informed her husband, leading to an FIR on April 14 at Sadar Police Station under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections for molestation.
Deepak, a Muzaffarpur, Bihar native employed as an ICU treatment machine technician for five months, confessed to the crime, according to police sources.
He was apprehended in the Sadar Police Station area and will be produced in court on Saturday, with police seeking custody for further investigation. The hospital suspended him, stating, “We have suspended the suspect employee and will continue supporting the police.”
Medanta initially denied the allegations on April 15, claiming no substantiation and submitting CCTV footage and medical records to police. The SIT, led by DCP Arpit Jain, included eight teams, with officers like ACP Sadar Yashwant and SHO Women Police West Inspector Geeta.
