Massive Military Boost: India Delivers Strike Vehicles and More to Nepal!
India provides military aid to Nepal, boosting bilateral defence ties.
In a significant step towards deepening bilateral defence cooperation, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri handed over a consignment of light strike vehicles, critical care medical equipment, and military animals to Nepal Army Chief General Ashok Raj Sigdel on Monday. The ceremony, held in Kathmandu, underscores the robust and enduring defence partnership between India and Nepal.
Misri, who arrived in Nepal on Sunday for a two-day official visit at the invitation of his Nepalese counterpart, Amrit Bahadur Rai, emphasized the trust and partnership that characterize the two nations' ties. "This handover reflects the close relationship between our armies and our commitment to mutual security," the Indian Embassy stated in a press release.
The foreign secretary also engaged with Nepal’s top leadership on Sunday, discussing avenues to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors. Sources from Nepal’s Foreign Ministry revealed that Misri’s visit primarily aimed to deliver an invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Nepalese Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli for a proposed visit to India on September 16-17.
