India, Japan unite for groundbreaking lunar exploration project.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed a historic collaboration between the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) for the ambitious Chandrayaan-5 mission. Speaking at a joint briefing in Tokyo alongside Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, Modi hailed the partnership as a milestone in humanity’s quest for space exploration. “Our active participation has gone beyond the limits of the earth and will become a symbol of mankind’s progress in space,” he declared, underscoring the mission’s global significance.
The collaboration, announced during a productive summit between the two leaders, marks a new chapter in the India-Japan “special strategic and global partnership.” Modi emphasized that the partnership between the two nations, as the world’s leading democracies and major economies, is vital not only for bilateral progress but also for global peace and security. The joint statement released by both leaders highlighted deepened economic and security cooperation, with a forward-looking roadmap for the next decade.
At the heart of this vision lies a robust framework for investment, innovation, and technological advancement.
