Iran Military Denies Weakened Capabilities; Vows More Destructive Strikes Against US and Israel
Iran's military dismisses Trump's victory claims and threatens stronger, wider strikes against US forces.
Tensions in the Middle East escalated further after Iran issued a sharp warning in response to remarks by US President Donald Trump, who had threatened to push the country back to the “Stone Age". The statement from Iran signalled that the ongoing conflict could intensify rather than de-escalate in the coming weeks.
A spokesperson for Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, the country’s top operational military body, said Iran would continue its actions until the United States faces what it described as “lasting humiliation and surrender". The official warned of “stronger, wider, and more destructive” attacks against US and Israeli forces, rejecting claims that Iran’s capabilities had been significantly weakened.
The response came hours after Trump, in a televised address, claimed that Iran had “very few” missile launchers remaining and that its ability to deploy missiles and drones had been “dramatically curtailed". He also asserted that US forces would achieve their battlefield objectives “very, very shortly", intensifying rhetoric around the ongoing confrontation.

Iranian military official Ebrahim Zolfaghari dismissed these claims, stating that US intelligence on Iran’s defence infrastructure was incomplete. “You know nothing of our vast strategic capabilities,” he said, adding that key military assets, including missile production facilities, long-range drones, and advanced air defence systems, remain fully operational.
Zolfaghari further claimed that the sites targeted by US forces were “insignificant” and did not impact Iran’s core strategic capabilities. He emphasised that critical military production occurs in undisclosed locations, warning Washington against underestimating Iran’s preparedness and resilience.
Accusing the United States and its allies of initiating hostilities, Iran reiterated its commitment to continued retaliation. The statement underscored that future responses would be “decisive and damaging", highlighting the risk of further escalation in an already volatile regional conflict.
