This milestone follows the Flag Foundation’s ongoing efforts to install monumental flagpoles across India.

The National Flag was unfurled on a towering 108-foot mast at Tezpur Military Garrison in Assam on September 11, 2025. The historic moment, marked by pride and unity, was led by Lieutenant General Gambhir Singh, General Officer Commanding of Gajraj Corps, in a ceremony that brought together soldiers, students, and local residents in Tezpur, a vibrant town known for its cultural and historical significance.

Addressing a diverse gathering of NCC cadets, school children, teachers, state government officials, and members of the central armed police forces, Lt Gen Singh called for discipline, selfless service, and ambitious dreams to propel India toward prosperity. “Let this flag inspire us to work tirelessly for our nation’s growth and unity,” he said, emphasizing the flag’s role as a symbol of national pride.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Flag Foundation of India, aims to foster patriotism and unity across all sections of society. Major General (Retd.) Aseem Kohli, representing the foundation, highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “The National Flag is a beacon of strength, unity, and patriotism, uniting every Indian in our shared journey toward progress.” The 108-foot mast, an engineering marvel, stands as a testament to this vision, making it a landmark of pride for Assam and the entire Northeast.
