Tezpur University Partners with Russia’s FEFU to Boost Global Research Ties
Tezpur University signs MoU with Russia’s FEFU during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
Tezpur University in Assam has forged a landmark partnership with Russia’s prestigious Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on September 3, 2025, during the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. The five-year agreement aims to foster collaboration in research, education, and cultural exchange, marking a significant step in strengthening academic ties between India and Russia.
FEFU, established in 1899 in Vladivostok, is renowned for its diverse programs in medicine, engineering, humanities, and natural sciences, making it a leading educational institution in the Asia-Pacific region.
The MoU outlines a robust framework for cooperation, including the establishment of joint dual-degree programs in construction and civil engineering, alongside research initiatives in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and related fields. The partnership will facilitate student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, field trips, conferences, and cultural programs, creating opportunities for cross-cultural learning and innovation.
The agreement was formalized by Tezpur University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh, and FEFU’s Vice President for International Relations, Prof. Evgeny E. Vlasov, with Prof. Shubhrangshu Shekhar Sarkar, Director of Tezpur’s International Affairs, also in attendance.
Prof. Singh emphasized the transformative potential of the collaboration, noting that exposure to diverse educational ecosystems and research cultures will equip students to tackle complex global challenges. The partnership aligns with Tezpur University’s commitment to advancing academic excellence and innovation, promising to broaden horizons for students and faculty while contributing to cutting-edge advancements in technology and engineering.
