India-US hold defence talks to strengthen strategic military cooperation.
India and the United States held the 29th edition of Army-to-Army Staff Talks in Hawaii, where both sides discussed ways to further strengthen defence cooperation and enhance their strategic partnership. The talks reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to deepen military collaboration and improve interoperability between their armed forces, according to official statements released on Saturday.
The discussions were co-chaired by Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Deputy Chief of the Army Staff (Strategy), and Lieutenant General Joel Vowell, Deputy Commanding General of US Army Pacific. Both sides reviewed ongoing areas of cooperation and explored new opportunities for expanding professional exchanges and joint engagement between the two armies.
According to the Indian Army, the talks focused on strengthening bilateral defence cooperation across multiple domains, including operational coordination, training exchanges and capacity building. The two sides also discussed measures to improve interoperability, enabling both forces to operate more effectively in joint and multinational environments. The latest round of talks comes amid a series of high-level engagements between the two countries in recent weeks. These engagements reflect the continued strengthening of the India–US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and growing alignment on regional and global security issues.
