Raja Rao expressed concern that the contributions of the INA remain underappreciated in India and abroad. He underscored the sacrifices made by soldiers and civilians alike in Southeast Asia, highlighting the army’s strategic campaigns during World War II and its symbolic role in India’s independence struggle.

PM Modi shared photographs of the meeting on X, calling it “very special” and paying tribute to the bravery of Netaji and INA soldiers. He remarked that their valor and dedication “helped shape India’s destiny” and acknowledged the continued significance of the INA in connecting the Indian diaspora in Malaysia and Singapore.

The INA’s historical legacy, including its mobilization of Indian civilians and formation of women’s units like the Rani of Jhansi Regiment, remains a testament to collective courage and empowerment. Veterans like Raja Rao continue to inspire a new generation by highlighting the enduring relevance of Netaji’s ideals.
