Woman Caught Smuggling ₹62 Crore of Cocaine in Oreo and Chocolate Boxes at Mumbai Airport!

A woman was arrested at Mumbai airport for hiding cocaine worth ₹62.6 crore in Oreo and chocolate boxes, shocking authorities.

On July 14, 2025, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested an Indian woman at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport after she attempted to smuggle 6,261 grams of cocaine, valued at ₹62.6 crore in the illicit market. The woman, arriving from Doha, was intercepted based on a tip-off about a female passenger smuggling drugs into India.

DRI officers searched her luggage and discovered six boxes of Oreo biscuits and three boxes of chocolates. Inside these, they found 300 capsules filled with a white powdery substance, which field tests confirmed as cocaine. The woman was taken into custody, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further details of the smuggling operation.

This incident follows other recent drug busts by DRI Mumbai. On June 22, a male passenger from Sierra Leone was arrested at the same airport with 1,139 grams of cocaine, worth ₹11.39 crore, after admitting to ingesting drug-filled capsules. He was immediately hospitalized for medical intervention. Earlier, on June 20, DRI officers trailed a Nigerian woman for 50 kilometers from Delhi to Mumbai, intercepting her on a bus and recovering narcotic substances from her baggage.
