Two Abducted Men Murdered in Surat Liquor Mafia Dispute, Kingpin on the Run

Notorious bootlegger Shiva Takla sparks massive manhunt after double murder.

In a gruesome incident that has shocked Gujarat’s Surat city, infamous liquor mafia operative Shiva Yadav, better known as Shiva Takla, allegedly orchestrated the abduction of three men on the night of December 1 and brutally murdered two of them over a financial dispute in the illicit liquor trade. The victims, Shoiab Firoz Sheikh, Nazim alias Bhanja Sadiq, and Irshad alias Kalia Qadar Sayed, were reportedly targeted after failing to settle accounts, highlighting the ruthless underworld networks that continue to operate despite the state’s strict prohibition laws.

The first victim, Shoiab Firoz Sheikh, was found dead in Surat’s Godadara area with multiple deep wounds inflicted by sharp weapons, while Nazim’s body was later discovered near Tadoda government hospital in Maharashtra’s Nandurbar district. The only survivor, Irshad, remains under medical care. Police disclosed that Shoiab’s distraught mother received repeated ransom calls demanding ₹1 lakh, later negotiated down to ₹20,000, but her son never returned even after the payment was delivered to the kidnappers.

Surat Police initially registered a missing person complaint filed by Shoiab’s mother, which rapidly escalated into cases of kidnapping and murder once the bodies were identified by relatives. Further investigation revealed Shoiab’s prior criminal record, including multiple mobile-snatching cases and detention under the stringent Gujarat Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act, indicating the victims themselves had ties to the local criminal ecosystem.

A major breakthrough came with the swift arrest of two accomplices, Asif Moti Sheikh and Jalam alias Jagdish Nanuram Kalal, who confessed to actively assisting Shiva Takla in the abduction and assaults. According to their statements, Shoiab was killed in Surat itself, after which the gang transported Nazim and Irshad to Maharashtra, where Nazim was executed and his body abandoned before the group fled the scene.

Shiva Takla, a notorious figure with an extensive criminal history and currently out on bail, remains the prime accused and is being actively pursued by joint teams from Gujarat and Maharashtra Police. Authorities have described him as highly dangerous, issued alerts across state borders, and appealed to the public for any information that could lead to his immediate capture.
