Three-Year-Old Boy Allegedly Killed by Mother’s Live-in Partner in Solapur

A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Solapur, Maharashtra, where a three-year-old boy named Farhan was allegedly murdered by his mother's live-in partner, Maulali alias Akbar Razaaq, aged 44, after the child accidentally defecated on his clothes during sleep on the night of December 11, 2025, highlighting the vulnerabilities faced by children in unstable domestic environments.
Authorities report that Maulali, who was intoxicated at the time, reacted with extreme violence upon waking to the accident, as Farhan was sleeping beside him in their modest residence, leading to a brutal assault involving beating and strangulation that ultimately claimed the young boy's life in a case now under intense police scrutiny.
The boy's mother, Shahnaz Sheikh, a 28-year-old domestic helper with two children from a previous marriage, returned home to find her son in critical condition and was initially deceived by Maulali, who claimed the injuries resulted from a simple fall, prompting them to seek medical attention at a private hospital where doctors urgently advised transfer to a better-equipped government facility.

In a bid to evade responsibility, Maulali accompanied Shahnaz and the gravely injured Farhan on a journey to Vijaypur in Karnataka, only to abandon them at the bus stand and flee, forcing Shahnaz to turn to her first husband for assistance in rushing the child to a government hospital, where medical staff tragically declared him dead on arrival despite all efforts.
Post-mortem results conclusively established strangulation as the cause of death, leading to the prompt arrest of Maulali by Solapur police, with Senior Inspector Pramod Waghmare confirming an ongoing thorough investigation into the full circumstances, including the role of alcohol, the family's recent relocation from Vijaypur where both Shahnaz and Maulali originate, and any underlying factors contributing to this devastating act of domestic violence.
