Speeding Car Hits Divider, Crashes Into KSRTC Bus; Five Dead In Bengaluru

Five youths died after their speeding car struck a divider and collided with a KSRTC bus in Bengaluru.

Five youths were killed in a tragic road accident after a speeding car rammed into a divider and subsequently collided with a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, police said. The crash occurred late at night and is suspected to have been caused by overspeeding.

According to preliminary investigations, the car lost control after hitting the road divider, veered into the opposite lane, and crashed head-on into the oncoming KSRTC bus. The impact was severe, leaving the vehicle mangled and causing fatal injuries to all five occupants. Authorities confirmed that the victims were declared dead at the scene.

Police officials stated that the bus driver and passengers escaped without major injuries, though some were treated for minor shock and bruises. The bus sustained front-end damage due to the collision. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to determine the exact sequence of events.

Overspeeding is believed to be the primary cause of the accident, though investigators are also examining whether alcohol consumption or other factors contributed to the crash. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being reviewed to gather additional evidence.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns over reckless driving and road safety in Bengaluru. Authorities have urged motorists to adhere to speed limits and exercise caution, especially during late-night hours when traffic conditions may encourage high speeds.
