This killing marks the fourth high-profile murder in Patna within a week, raising alarms about deteriorating law and order. On July 10, a 50-year-old sand mining businessman was gunned down outside his home in Ranitalab. On July 11, a grocery shop owner was shot dead in Ramkrishna Nagar. The spree began with the murder of prominent businessman and BJP leader Gopal Khemka on July 4 near Gandhi Maidan, just 300 meters from a police station.
The string of violent incidents has sparked criticism of the state government, with opposition leaders like RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav questioning Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s handling of law and order. Police are intensifying efforts to curb the escalating crime wave.
