In a shocking turn of events in Uttar Pradesh, a 55-year-old grandfather of three, Shakeel, has eloped with his son’s 22-year-old fiancée, Ayesha, absconding with over Rs 2 lakh in cash and family gold.
The incident has left Shakeel’s family devastated and sparked widespread discussion in the local community. Shakeel had arranged the engagement of his 15-year-old son, Aman, to Ayesha, a young woman from a neighboring village. Despite objections from his family over financial concerns, Shakeel insisted on proceeding with the marriage plans, according to reports. Ayesha, described as gentle and sweet, frequently welcomed Shakeel to her home under the pretext of wedding preparations.
Suspicions arose when Shakeel’s wife noticed inappropriate behavior between her husband and Ayesha on two occasions. Her concerns were met with verbal abuse and physical violence from Shakeel. Further investigation by Shakeel’s wife and Aman uncovered frequent video calls and intimate photos on Shakeel’s phone, confirming an affair. Devastated by the betrayal, Aman called off the engagement.

In June, Shakeel fled to Delhi with Ayesha, claiming he was leaving for work. He allegedly took Rs 2 lakh in cash and gold from the family home before departing. Later, Shakeel informed his wife that he had married Ayesha, leaving her heartbroken. “Ayesha was meant to be my son’s bride, now she is my husband’s wife,” she said, expressing her anguish.
Aman further alleged that his grandparents were aware of the affair and even facilitated the marriage. Local police have stated that no formal complaint has been filed by the family. However, they assured that appropriate action would be taken if a family member comes forward with a complaint. The incident has left the community in shock, raising questions about trust and family dynamics in the wake of this scandal.
