Narayanpur Security Operation Leads To Recovery Of Naxal Weapons Cache

Security forces have recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, communication equipment and other materials allegedly linked to Naxal groups during an ongoing search operation in Narayanpur district. The recovery was made from a forest area near Kader village following specific intelligence inputs received by security personnel.

A team of the Border Security Force (BSF) Battalion deployed in Sonpur conducted the search operation on Friday. The Bomb Disposal Squad examined the suspected location while following safety procedures, after which personnel unearthed a concealed cache believed to have been hidden by Naxalites.

The recovered materials included firearms, ammunition, communication devices, electronic equipment, medical supplies, Naxal literature and other operational items. Officials said the seizure included rifles, a 12-bore gun, BGL launchers, cartridges, magazines, an IED operating mechanism, GPS equipment, memory cards, pen drives and other items reportedly used for organisational activities.

The Bomb Disposal Squad also recovered 44 BGL shells, including 24 large and 20 small units. These explosives were safely neutralised and destroyed at the site due to security concerns and were not included in the official list of seized materials. Authorities said further legal action is being initiated regarding the remaining recovered items.

Officials said the operation was carried out as part of continued efforts by security forces to locate and recover weapons, explosives and other resources hidden by Naxal groups. The recovery comes despite Narayanpur district being declared Naxal-free, with security agencies continuing surveillance and search operations to maintain peace and security.

Security forces have stated that such operations are aimed at preventing the revival of extremist networks and strengthening stability in the region. Authorities said coordinated efforts by police and security personnel will continue to ensure public safety and address any remaining security challenges in the district.
