Man Shoots Woman at Gurugram Club After Marriage Proposal Rejection; Two Arrested

Rejected proposal turns deadly in Gurugram nightclub horror.

In a chilling incident that has sent shockwaves through Gurugram, a 25-year-old woman named Kalpana was shot inside a popular club on MG Road after she turned down a persistent marriage proposal from a man she knew. The attack occurred in the early hours of December 20, highlighting the dangerous consequences of unrequited advances escalating into violence. Authorities confirmed that the victim, who works at the establishment, sustained injuries from the gunfire and was immediately rushed to a private hospital for treatment.

The woman's husband, a resident of Najafgarh in Delhi, filed a formal complaint that formed the basis of the police investigation. According to his statement, Kalpana had left for her shift at the club on December 19 and contacted him around 1 am to inform him that she had been shot. He further revealed that approximately a month prior, the primary accused, identified as Tushar alias Jonty, a 25-year-old from Sangam Vihar in Delhi, had visited their home, engaged in a heated argument with the couple, and departed abruptly, raising early concerns about his intentions.

Police investigations swiftly led to the identification and apprehension of two suspects involved in the crime. Tushar and his accomplice, Shubham alias Jony, aged 24 and also from Sangam Vihar, were arrested by a crime unit team in Baraut, Uttar Pradesh. The arrests underscore the coordinated efforts of law enforcement to track down the perpetrators who had fled the scene following the shooting. An FIR was promptly registered at Sector 29 police station based on the husband's complaint, enabling a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

During interrogation, Tushar reportedly confessed to authorities that he had developed a friendship with Kalpana around six months earlier and had repeatedly expressed his desire to marry her. Despite her consistent refusals, he persisted, culminating in the fateful night when he, accompanied by Shubham, visited the club. Upon facing yet another rejection to his proposal, Tushar allegedly resorted to firing at her in a fit of rage, endangering not only the victim but potentially others present at the venue.

The accused duo remains in police custody as questioning continues to uncover further details and motives behind the attack. Officials have stated that the investigation is ongoing, with efforts focused on recovering the weapon used and examining any additional evidence. This case serves as a stark reminder of the need for heightened security measures in public entertainment spaces and the importance of addressing issues of harassment and stalking before they escalate into acts of extreme violence.
