Police Arrest Woman for Fabricating Rape Allegation in Extortion Plot
Gurugram police uncover elaborate extortion conspiracy.
Gurugram police effected the arrest of a woman from Rajasthan, currently residing in Delhi, after determining that she had deliberately fabricated a serious rape allegation as a central component of a calculated criminal conspiracy aimed at extorting substantial sums of money and applying undue pressure on the husband of a separate complainant in an ongoing sexual assault case.
The intricate plot was primarily devised by Jitendra alias Bittu, an individual previously accused of rape who is presently out on bail but has since absconded, acting in close coordination with the arrested woman—who had herself legitimately filed a rape complaint against her live-in partner in July, resulting in his current incarceration—and leveraging their prior connection established through that partner.
On December 11, the woman approached DLF Phase 2 police station to lodge a detailed complaint, asserting that on November 15 she had been enticed with the promise of employment near MG Road Metro Station, forcibly taken into a vehicle under false pretenses, driven to a nearby location, and subsequently subjected to sexual assault by two men who issued death threats to suppress her resistance.

Authorities promptly registered a First Information Report under pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in response to her statements, initiating a rigorous investigation that encompassed meticulous examination of available CCTV footage, comprehensive analysis of call detail records, deployment of technical surveillance tools, and cross-verification of circumstantial evidence, all of which conclusively demonstrated the absence of any corroboration for the claimed incident.
Further probing unveiled the true motive: the fabricated narrative was engineered at Jitendra's explicit direction to target and intimidate the family of the woman who had accused him of rape, prompting the addition of appropriate charges against the perpetrator of the false complaint, her placement in police remand upon court presentation, and eventual transfer to judicial custody on Tuesday following exhaustive interrogation during which she fully acknowledged her role in the deception, while law enforcement continues intensive efforts to locate and apprehend the fugitive mastermind.
