Man Hacks Parents, Grandmother and Sister to Death in Bahraich Over Land Money
A thirty-year-old man, Nirankar, was arrested after an axe attack killed four family members in a Bahraich village.
A man allegedly hacked four members of his family to death following a dispute over money in a village in Bahraich district, police said on Monday. The incident took place in the Ramgaon hamlet of Basantpur Rudal village during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, triggering shock among local residents. Authorities have taken the accused into custody and launched a detailed investigation into the multiple killings.
According to police, the accused, identified as Nirankar (30), allegedly attacked his parents, grandmother and sister with an axe after an argument over money received from the sale of land and jewellery. Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Durga Prasad Tiwari said the complaint was filed by the accused’s elder brother Gurudev, who reported witnessing the violent altercation at their home.
Officials said Nirankar allegedly struck his father Badlu Ram (60), mother Sanju Devi (56), grandmother Sitala (80), and sister Parvati (around 42), causing fatal injuries. Gurudev also alleged that Nirankar attempted to attack him with the axe during the incident.
