Kanpur Dumper Drags Youth 70 Metres Under Wheels in Fatal Incident Caught on CCTV

A 32-year-old man, Cavils Dev Gautam, was tragically crushed to death by a dumper in Kanpur, with CCTV footage capturing the harrowing incident. The 40-second video shows Gautam being dragged under the vehicle’s wheels for nearly 70 metres, leaving bystanders and viewers shocked.
The incident occurred near Hanumant Vihar police station. Footage reveals Gautam attempting to climb onto a stationary dumper caught in traffic before losing his balance and falling beneath the heavy vehicle. Despite his desperate cries for help, the dumper moved forward, fatally injuring him.
Gautam, a resident of Reuna village, lived at his elder sister Radha Devi’s house in Karrahi, where he managed contract work fixing shutters at under-construction homes. He is survived by his mother Keshkali, father Chhotelal, two brothers, and three married sisters.

His family has raised suspicions about the incident, alleging it may not have been accidental. According to his sister Anjani, the family had an ongoing land dispute in their village, and they suspect that members of a rival party deliberately caused the fatal accident.
The grieving family has lodged a formal complaint with the police, demanding a thorough investigation. Station House Officer Rajeev Singh confirmed that authorities are examining the case and analyzing CCTV footage to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
The police have stated that further action will be taken based on the probe’s findings. Meanwhile, the incident has sparked public outrage, with many calling for a swift and transparent investigation to ensure justice for the deceased.
