#BreakingNews: UP Police Caught Abandoning Body on Camera Leads to Suspensions

Police suspended after video exposes shocking midnight act.

Two police personnel, including a sub-inspector and a home guard, were suspended in Uttar Pradesh after they were allegedly caught on CCTV dumping an unidentified body in a different locality during the late-night hours. Senior officials confirmed the disciplinary action on Friday, terming the act a grave violation of police ethics and established operating procedures. The incident has triggered serious questions about accountability and transparency within the local police system.

The matter came to light after CCTV footage from the Shastri Nagar L-Block crossing went viral and was reviewed by senior officers. The footage reportedly shows two uniformed personnel arriving on a motorcycle around 1.50 am, followed by the arrival of an e-rickshaw carrying the body. The body was then placed outside a closed shop before the personnel left the spot, raising immediate suspicion over their intent and conduct.

By morning, local residents discovered the body lying outside the shop and promptly informed the police control room. A team from the Lohia Nagar police station rushed to the location, cordoned off the area to prevent disturbance of evidence, and took custody of the unidentified body. It was later sent for post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death and identify the deceased.

Meerut Senior Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada stated that a preliminary investigation revealed the involvement of Constable Rajesh and Home Guard Rohtas in transporting and abandoning the body in the L-Block area using an e-rickshaw. Their actions were found to be in serious violation of protocol, prompting swift disciplinary measures. Officials also began reviewing their duty records and movements on the night of the incident.

Following the initial findings, Constable Rajesh, Home Guard Rohtas, and the L-Block outpost in-charge, Sub-Inspector Jitendra, were suspended with immediate effect. The inquiry has now been entrusted to Superintendent of Police (City) Ayush Vikram Singh to ensure an independent and detailed investigation. Authorities have stated that further action, including possible criminal charges, will depend on the outcome of the ongoing probe.
