A 24-year-old SWAT commando of the Delhi Police, Kajal Chaudhary, was brutally killed by her husband after a violent domestic altercation over financial matters. The incident occurred on January 22, 2026, when her husband, Ankur Chaudhary, a clerk in the Ministry of Defence, assaulted her and struck her head with a heavy dumbbell, resulting in fatal injuries.

Kajal was immediately admitted to a hospital with serious head trauma but succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday, January 28, 2026, during treatment. According to her brother, Nikhil Chaudhary, who is a constable at the Parliament Street police station, he was on the phone with Kajal when the attack began. He said Ankur started hitting her while the call was ongoing and later informed him of the assault.

Following the incident, police registered a murder case against Ankur, who has since been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the attack, including potential motives and any prior history of domestic disputes.

This case highlights the ongoing challenges faced by women in balancing personal and professional lives and underscores the need for increased awareness and intervention in domestic disputes before they escalate into fatal violence.
