Retired DSP’s Deadly Rampage: Son Killed, Wife and Daughter-in-Law Injured in Amritsar Shooting
A retired Central Reserve Police Force Deputy Superintendent, Tarsem Singh, unleashed chaos near a Majitha Road police station, opening fire on his family with a licensed gun.
The tragic shooting claimed the life of his 40-year-old son and left his first wife and daughter-in-law critically injured, police said.
The incident, rooted in a bitter property dispute with his first wife, escalated into violence on Friday. A nearby police team swiftly intervened, overpowering Singh and seizing his weapon. Assistant Commissioner Rishab Bhola confirmed the former officer’s second marriage and ongoing familial tensions as key factors.

The injured were rushed to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, where Singh’s son succumbed to his wounds. Authorities are investigating, with Singh now in custody facing charges.
