Bihar Hospital Shooting: Prime Suspect Nabbed in Kolkata Raid
Eight arrested, including main shooter, in Patna hospital murder case.
In a dramatic breakthrough, eight suspects, including prime shooter Tauseef Badshah, were arrested in Kolkata on Saturday evening for the July 11 murder of gangster Chandan Mishra at Patna’s Paras Hospital. The operation, a joint effort by Patna Police, Kolkata Police, and both states’ Special Task Forces, involved simultaneous raids at multiple Kolkata locations, including a guest house.
Tauseef, the alleged mastermind, was hiding in Kolkata with his cousin Nishu Khan, who, despite being partially paralyzed from a prior shooting, aided the conspiracy and provided shelter. Other arrested individuals include Sachin Singh, who coordinated the escape; Harsh alias Harish Kumar, who conducted surveillance; Bhim Kumar, whose role is under investigation; and Alpana Das, the only woman arrested, with her role undisclosed. Two additional suspects’ identities are withheld pending confirmation.
The murder involved a five-member shooter group—Tauseef, Monu, Balwant, Abhishek, and Nilesh—though not all have been apprehended. A manhunt continues for the remaining suspects. Mishra was killed while undergoing treatment, and the suspects fled Bihar post-crime. The arrests mark a significant step in unraveling the conspiracy behind the brazen hospital killing.
