Father and Sons Sentenced to Life for 2020 Murder Over Cable Dispute

A Firozabad court hands life imprisonment to a man and his three sons for killing a neighbor in a violent dispute.

A Firozabad court in Uttar Pradesh sentenced Kharg Singh and his three sons—Dharmendra, Dinesh, and Mukesh—to life imprisonment for the 2020 murder of their neighbor, Prakash Chandra, over a disagreement about an electricity cable. The incident occurred on July 30, 2020, in Jajumai village under Jasrana police station limits.

Assistant Public Prosecutor Ajay Kumar Yadav stated that the conflict began when Prakash objected to the accused extending an electric cable across his rooftop. The dispute escalated into a violent confrontation, during which the four men surrounded Prakash, beat him, and fired shots, leading to his death. Police registered a case and filed a charge sheet after a detailed investigation.

The court of Additional Sessions Judge Vimal Verma convicted the four based on evidence, including testimonies from 11 witnesses and 21 exhibits. In addition to life sentences, the court imposed a collective fine of Rs 32,000 on the accused, bringing justice to the tragic case.
