Dismembered Body of Missing UP Man Found in Neighbour’s Trunk

Police recover Jujhar Singh’s body in Etah; an investigation is underway to identify culprits.

The dismembered body of Jujhar Singh, a 50-year-old man missing since Sunday evening, was discovered inside a trunk at his neighbor’s house in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah district on Monday, police said. The gruesome finding in the Malawan area, just a few doors from Singh’s residence, has sparked panic among locals and prompted an intensive police investigation.

The breakthrough came after police traced Singh’s mobile phone to the home of his neighbor, Indrapal Singh. Circle Officer (Sakeet) Kirtika Singh reported that Jujhar Singh’s family had filed a missing person’s report on Sunday, leading to surveillance of his phone. A search of Indrapal Singh’s premises revealed the victim’s body stuffed in a large trunk. Senior Superintendent of Police Shyam Narayan Singh inspected the scene and ordered strict action.

The incident drew a large crowd, and amid the chaos, Indrapal Singh’s family fled, according to police. A forensic team examined the site, and authorities are reviewing CCTV footage to identify those involved. The body has been sent for a postmortem to determine the cause of death, with the motive for the killing still under investigation. No formal complaint has been received yet.
