Delhi Police Crack Down on Road Stunts, Arrest Five and Seize Vehicles

Five men were arrested and four vehicles seized after a viral video of reckless stunts on Delhi roads.

Delhi Police arrested five individuals on December 28, 2025, following the viral spread of a video showing reckless driving and dangerous stunts on the city's busy Ring Road. The footage, which surfaced on social media platform X on December 27, captured multiple cars speeding at high velocity, swerving and zigzagging through traffic, with occupants standing through sunroofs and windows while shouting. The incident, recorded around 10:44 pm on December 26 from the ITO stretch towards Sarai Kale Khan and Noida, posed a severe risk to public safety and sparked widespread outrage online, with users calling for strict action against such life-threatening behavior.

The police took immediate cognizance of the viral clip, registering an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act due to the seriousness of the matter and concerns for commuter safety. During the swift investigation, authorities apprehended five accused—Almas Arshad (20), Sarfaraj (26), Mohd Imran Qureshi (23), Mohd Shabbir (23), and Saad Abdullah (22)—all residents of Delhi. Four vehicles allegedly used in the stunts were also recovered as part of the probe. The rapid response highlighted the Delhi Police's commitment to addressing road safety violations promptly when brought to public attention.

The viral video drew sharp criticism from netizens, many of whom described such reckless antics as increasingly common on Delhi roads and lamented the apparent disregard for law enforcement. Some users pointed out the potential for fatal accidents caused by this kind of high-speed maneuvering in heavy traffic. The Delhi Traffic Police had initially acknowledged the complaint on social media, advising the poster to file a formal report or contact emergency services via 112 before escalating the matter internally for investigation. The incident underscores ongoing challenges with stunt driving in urban areas, where thrill-seeking can endanger innocent road users.
