Delhi Gym Trainer Murder: Himanshu Bhau Claims Responsibility, Shares Message On Social Media

Gangster claims responsibility for Delhi killing

A gym trainer was shot dead in south Delhi's Aya Nagar on Monday morning, with police investigating whether the killing was connected to a longstanding rivalry in the village. The deceased, identified as Vijay Kumar, was inside a gym when some men allegedly called him outside. Two motorcycle-borne assailants then opened fire on him near Hansa Chowk in the Fatehpur Beri area, according to his family and police. The incident has prompted a murder investigation, with multiple teams deployed to identify and apprehend those responsible. The shooting took place at around 10 am, and approximately 15 rounds were fired, police said.

Kumar sustained multiple gunshot injuries in the attack and later succumbed to his injuries. The assailants fled the scene after the shooting. Police teams have since begun efforts to trace the suspects and establish the circumstances that led to the attack. Investigators are also examining whether the killing was the result of a personal dispute or whether it had a wider connection to tensions in the area. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Anant Mittal said an FIR had been registered in connection with the killing and multiple teams had been formed to trace and apprehend the accused.

According to the police, the initial assessment points towards personal enmity as a possible motive. Investigators are, however, continuing to examine other possible angles, including the reported rivalry in the village and whether it played any role in the shooting. The case took another turn after a social media post attributed to gangster Himanshu Bhau surfaced, with the post purportedly claiming responsibility for Kumar's killing. Bhau, who is based abroad, allegedly issued a warning in Hindi along with the claim. The message said, "Bhagne se kam nahi chalega field me aao. Bhagne nahi dunga kisi ko," which roughly translates to, "Running away won't help, come out to the field. I won't let anyone run away."

The post has not yet been independently established as authentic. Police are now verifying whether the social media account and the post are genuinely linked to Himanshu Bhau. Sources said investigators are also examining whether the alleged claim of responsibility has any connection with the killing in Aya Nagar. Authorities are expected to establish the authenticity of the post and determine whether it provides any credible lead about the identity or motive of the attackers. Until those checks are completed, police have not confirmed Bhau's involvement in the murder. The shooting has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the attack, particularly because Kumar was allegedly called out of the gym shortly before the assailants opened fire.

Police are examining the sequence of events, statements from witnesses and the circumstances surrounding the victim's movements before the shooting. Investigators are also working to identify the two motorcycle-borne attackers who fled after the firing. The investigation remains underway, with police focusing on identifying and arresting the suspects and determining the motive behind the killing. While personal enmity is currently considered the primary line of inquiry, officials are also examining the reported village rivalry and the social media claim attributed to Himanshu Bhau. Police have not confirmed any direct link between the gangster and the murder, and the authenticity and significance of the purported online claim remain under verification.
