Delhi Police Foil Alleged Plot to Kill Doctor, Two Suspects Injured in Encounter
Delhi police foil alleged plot to kill doctor, arrest two shooters
Two suspected shooters allegedly linked to fugitive gangster Himanshu Bhau's syndicate were injured and arrested following a police encounter in Delhi's Bakkarwala area. The suspects were allegedly on their way to target Dr Narendra Sharma, the owner of RRM Hospital, after the gangster reportedly threatened the doctor. A joint operation by the Delhi Police Crime Branch and Haryana Police's Special Task Force led to the interception of the suspects, who were travelling in a Mahindra Thar.
According to officials, police had received information about a possible targeted killing being planned by members of the Himanshu Bhau gang. The intelligence reportedly indicated that shooters had been sent to the area to attack Dr Sharma. Acting on the information, police teams began searching for the suspects and eventually spotted a vehicle matching the description in Bakkarwala. Officers signalled the vehicle to stop, but the occupants allegedly attempted to flee towards a service road near a flyover.
The escape attempt reportedly came to an abrupt end when the SUV collided head-on with a Bolero pickup truck at a T-junction. Following the crash, the two occupants allegedly abandoned the vehicle and opened fire at the police team. Sources said around eight rounds were fired during the confrontation. Police personnel then allegedly returned fire in self-defence, resulting in both suspects suffering bullet injuries before they were taken into custody and shifted to a hospital for treatment.

The arrested suspects were identified as 19-year-old Sameer, a resident of Rithal Phogat in Rohtak, and Kush, a resident of Ghubana who is currently living in Vijay Nagar, Rohtak. Police reportedly recovered two Glock pistols from their possession following the encounter. Investigators are now examining where the weapons came from and are questioning the suspects to determine whether other members of the alleged criminal network were involved in planning or supporting the operation.
The incident has also brought renewed attention to alleged threats issued by Himanshu Bhau against Dr Sharma. According to officials, the gangster had allegedly threatened the doctor and warned that shooters could be sent to the area. Police are investigating whether the two arrested men were directly assigned to carry out the alleged attack and whether the planned target was specifically the hospital owner. Further investigation is expected to establish the sequence of events leading up to the encounter and identify any additional conspirators.
The Himanshu Bhau gang has previously been linked by investigators to several criminal incidents in the region. Police have also associated the syndicate with the 2025 shooting outside YouTuber Elvish Yadav's residence in Gurugram, Haryana. The latest encounter is being investigated as part of a wider effort by law enforcement agencies to disrupt alleged organised crime networks operating across Delhi, Haryana and neighbouring areas. The recovery of firearms and the questioning of the injured suspects could provide investigators with further leads about the gang's activities and its alleged plans in the capital.
