Delhi 10/11 Blast Update: Faridabad Doctors Allegedly Planned Attacks Using Ultra-Secure App

Terror trio planned Red Fort attack via untraceable Threema chats.

Three doctors from Faridabad’s Al Falah University allegedly masterminded Monday’s deadly Red Fort car blast using Threema, a highly encrypted Swiss messaging application that requires no phone number or email for registration. Police revealed on Thursday that Dr Umar Un Nabi — the suicide bomber — along with Dr Muzammil Ganaie and Dr Shaheen Shahid, coordinated the entire terror conspiracy through this ultra-secure platform, exchanging maps, target layouts, and operational plans without leaving conventional digital footprints.

Investigators believe the group operated their own private Threema server, enabling end-to-end encrypted communication that automatically deletes messages from both sender and receiver while storing zero metadata. This setup made it nearly impossible for intelligence agencies to intercept or trace their conversations in real time. Sources described Umar as the most radicalised member and the key connector, who immediately severed all digital links and switched off his phones after sensing his associates’ arrests.

The death toll from Monday’s explosion rose to 13 on Thursday after another victim succumbed at LNJP Hospital, with several others still critical. Police have seized a red EcoSport used to transport ammonium nitrate and recovered three additional bomb-laden vehicles, confirming that the module was preparing at least 32 cars for simultaneous blasts targeting historic sites and vital installations across the national capital.

The terror cell conducted multiple reconnaissance missions in Delhi and was awaiting final instructions from overseas handlers when the plot was disrupted. The premature Red Fort blast occurred only because Umar panicked after learning of his colleagues’ detention, officials said.

As probe agencies race to locate the group’s private Threema server — possibly hosted abroad — the use of such advanced encrypted tools by highly educated professionals has raised fresh alarms about evolving terror tactics in India.
