CBN Busts Illegal Drug Lab at MP Farmhouse, Seizes Rs 10 Crore Narcotics

The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) conducted a major raid on Saturday evening, dismantling an illegal synthetic drug manufacturing unit operating covertly inside Teerth Plant Nursery at a farmhouse in the Amla area of Agar Malwa district, western Madhya Pradesh. The operation was led by Superintendent Mukesh Khatri of the CBN-Ujjain unit, acting on precise intelligence about an impending large consignment pickup.

Authorities discovered a fully functional clandestine laboratory producing MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy) and recovered 31.25 kg of finished mephedrone along with various precursor chemicals. The seized narcotics are valued at approximately Rs 10 crore in the domestic market, with estimates suggesting the international street value could reach up to a staggering Rs 50 crore.

The raid targeted the plant nursery after reliable inputs indicated that the location was being used to manufacture and store significant quantities of synthetic drugs. The sophisticated setup hidden within the seemingly innocuous agricultural facility highlights the evolving tactics employed by drug syndicates to evade detection in rural and semi-urban areas.

Investigations have uncovered a potential link to Indore, prompting the CBN team to intensify efforts in tracing the broader network. Officials are actively probing the supply chain, identifying key operatives, and determining the scale of the racket. While no arrests have been made so far, legal proceedings have been initiated against the nursery manager under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The bust represents a significant blow to the synthetic drug trade in the region, with the CBN emphasizing continued vigilance against such hidden laboratories. Authorities have assured that the ongoing probe will target all individuals and entities involved in facilitating this illicit operation.
