Bihar Man Held For Threatening PM Modi’s Security, Using Fake IDs And Dark Web

Bihar man arrested for threatening PM Modi’s security online and demanding money via foreign agency website.

A man has been arrested in Bihar’s Buxar district for allegedly attempting to compromise the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by contacting a foreign intelligence agency and demanding money, police said on Friday. The accused, identified as Amal Kumar Tiwari, was taken into custody from the Simri locality on Thursday night.

According to a statement issued by local authorities, Tiwari allegedly sent a message through the website of a United States-based intelligence agency, claiming he could breach the Prime Minister’s security in exchange for financial compensation. Acting on this information, police conducted a raid at his residence and seized a laptop, mobile phones, and other digital devices believed to contain evidence related to the case.

Investigators said the accused had installed multiple virtual private networks (VPNs) and applications on his mobile phone to access the dark web. These tools are often used to mask online activity and maintain anonymity, raising concerns about potential cybercrime links. Officials indicated that the digital evidence recovered will be examined further to determine the extent of his activities.

During the search operation, police also recovered fake identity documents from Tiwari’s premises. Authorities suspect these documents were being used in cybercrime-related operations, suggesting that the accused may have been involved in broader illegal activities beyond the current आरोप.

Police officials stated that during initial interrogation, Tiwari confessed to sending the message and revealed his prior involvement in a case related to threatening to hack the website of Kolkata airport. This past incident is now being revisited as part of the ongoing investigation.

The accused is currently being questioned by local police along with central agencies, as authorities assess the seriousness of the threat and any possible links to larger networks. Officials have not indicated any immediate risk to the Prime Minister’s security but emphasized that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness.
