Bihar Man Arrested for Molesting Woman on Hanoi to Kolkata Flight at Airport
Man from Bihar arrested at Kolkata airport for allegedly molesting woman co-passenger on Hanoi-Kolkata flight.
Police at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport arrested a male passenger on Saturday for allegedly molesting a woman seated next to him on a private airline flight from Hanoi, Vietnam, to Kolkata. The accused, identified as Md Abdur Rahman, reportedly touched the woman inappropriately as the plane prepared to land.
According to authorities, the female passenger raised an alarm following the harassment, prompting the cabin crew to intervene immediately. Rahman was moved to another seat to ensure the victim’s safety, while the crew maintained order until the aircraft landed.
Upon arrival at Kolkata airport, the cabin crew handed the accused to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials, who later handed him over to the local police. A formal case was registered, and he will be produced before the Barrackpore court. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The victim has reportedly been left traumatized by the ordeal, highlighting concerns about passenger safety on commercial flights. Police urged passengers to report harassment immediately and commended the crew for their prompt action.
The incident occurred alongside another security scare at the same airport earlier that day, when a bomb threat on a Shillong-bound IndiGo flight caused panic. Authorities confirmed that all passengers were safely evacuated and the aircraft cleared for departure after thorough security checks.
Airport officials stressed that passenger safety remains a top priority, and strict measures are being reinforced to prevent harassment and ensure secure travel for all travelers.
