Anti-Khalistani Activist Gursimran Mand Assaulted by Mob Near Ambala

Gursimran Singh Mand, chief of the International Anti-Khalistani Terrorist Front, was allegedly assaulted by a mob outside Gurudwara Shri Panjokhra Sahib on Friday, police said. The religious site is located approximately 10 kilometres from Ambala City, and the attack occurred on the road leading towards the gurdwara.

According to preliminary information provided by the police, a group of people surrounded Mand and attacked him near the premises. The mob also targeted his vehicle, smashing its windshield and damaging several other windowpanes. The incident caused tension in the area as Mand’s security personnel attempted to protect him from the crowd.

Mand was rescued from the agitated mob through the intervention of his security guards and local police personnel. Authorities managed to remove him from the immediate area before the situation could escalate further. No confirmed information was immediately available regarding the extent of any injuries suffered by Mand or others during the confrontation.

After being brought to safety, Mand was allowed to continue towards his destination in Punjab under security arrangements. Police did not immediately disclose whether additional protection was provided for the remainder of his journey or whether any of the people allegedly involved in the assault had been detained.

Police said the exact reason behind the alleged assault had yet to be established and that further investigation would be required to determine what triggered the confrontation. Authorities had not immediately identified the members of the mob or announced any formal charges connected with the incident.

Investigators are expected to examine witness accounts and other available evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events near the gurdwara.
