Police Make First Arrest In Investigation Linked To Akshay Kumar’s Daughter Case

Police arrest made in case linked to fake messages

Maharashtra Cyber Police made their first arrest in the cyber harassment case involving Bollywood Superstar Akshay Kumar's 13-year-old daughter Nitara, who was targeted with requests for nude photos while playing an online game months earlier. Additional Director General of Police Yashasvi Yadav confirmed the accused's custody after investigation traced the perpetrator through digital footprints.

The incident surfaced publicly in October 2025 when Akshay Kumar recounted the disturbing episode during a cyber awareness event. Nitara received inappropriate messages from a stranger during gameplay, asking "Are you male or female?" before escalating to demands for nude pictures. The quick-thinking teen informed her mother Twinkle Khanna immediately, shutting down the interaction before harm escalated.

Kumar praised his daughter's bravery, using the story to highlight online predation risks facing children on gaming platforms. "She was very brave and told her parents," Yadav noted during a session replaying Akshay's clip. The case underscores vulnerabilities in popular multiplayer games where predators exploit chat anonymity targeting minors.

Maharashtra Cyber's swift action followed Kumar's complaint, demonstrating effective tracing despite the six-month gap. The arrest serves as deterrence amid rising sextortion cases, with officials urging parental monitoring and cyber hygiene education in schools from grades 7-10.

This development brings closure to a high-profile victim while amplifying calls for platform accountability. Gaming companies face renewed scrutiny over child safety features as authorities vow continued crackdowns on digital predators.
