Caught On Camera! Mathura City Magistrate Seen Thrashing PWD Clerk

Mathura City Magistrate Faces Backlash Over Alleged Assault on PWD Employee

A viral video showing Mathura City Magistrate Rakesh Kumar allegedly dragging and assaulting Gopal Prasad, a head assistant clerk in the Public Works Department (PWD), has triggered outrage across social media.

The incident, captured on CCTV, occurred on Tuesday at the PWD office in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, following a verbal dispute between Prasad and a home guard at the Collectorate NIC gate.

Prasad, 54, alleged that Kumar, accompanied by 10 personnel, stormed into his office, abused him, and forcibly dragged him out while he was working. “They beat me and tried to take me to his office, but my colleagues intervened,” Prasad told TV9, demanding accountability. In protest, PWD employees shuttered the office and staged a demonstration, vowing to keep it closed until Kumar issues a public apology.

Kumar, however, denied the assault allegations, claiming he visited the PWD office to investigate the home guard’s complaint of misbehavior by Prasad. “The narrative is false. I only went to verify if the individual was a government employee. There was no assault,” Kumar told TV9, dismissing the accusations as baseless.

The incident has fueled public criticism, with netizens condemning Kumar’s alleged high-handedness. The Uttar Pradesh government has not yet commented, but the controversy has intensified calls for an inquiry into the magistrate’s conduct. As the standoff continues, the viral footage underscores growing concerns over administrative overreach, with PWD staff firm on their demand for justice.
