Raseshwari Devi announces major yoga hall and meditation camp.
Spiritual leader Raseshwari Devi has announced the construction of a large-scale Yoga and Meditation Hall with a seating capacity of over 1,500 people near Tangi in Odisha’s Khurda district, marking a significant expansion of her organisation’s spiritual and wellness initiatives. The project was unveiled on the occasion of World Meditation Day 2026 and is expected to become a major centre for meditation retreats, yoga training, and spiritual education.
The proposed facility is designed to host large gatherings for meditation camps, discourses, and wellness programmes, reflecting the growing interest in structured spiritual tourism and holistic health practices in the region. Alongside the Odisha project, her organisation has also announced a week-long meditation camp in Haridwar scheduled from June 11 to June 17, 2026, which is expected to draw around 2,500 participants, including international attendees.
Born in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, Raseshwari Devi pursued higher education in Mathematics and English Literature before turning towards spirituality at an early age. Influenced by her family’s Bhakti Yoga traditions, she embraced renunciation (sannyas) in 1988 at the age of 22 under the guidance of her guru, Jagadguru Swami Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, a prominent figure in modern devotional spiritual movements.

Over the past three decades, she has been actively involved in expanding spiritual and social outreach programmes across India. As the founder-president of the Braj Gopika Seva Mission, established in 1998, Raseshwari Devi has overseen the creation of multiple meditation and spiritual centres, including 21 centres in Odisha focused on yoga, devotion, and wellness education.
Her teachings emphasise the integration of traditional Vedic philosophy with practical aspects of modern life, with a particular focus on Shri Krishna Bhakti traditions. Followers describe her work as combining devotional practice with structured wellness programmes aimed at promoting mental and emotional balance among participants of different age groups.
Through her initiatives, Raseshwari Devi has also supported broader outreach in areas such as education, healthcare, and cultural development, aiming to connect spiritual practice with community welfare. Observers note that the expansion of large meditation facilities reflects a wider trend of organised spiritual infrastructure growth in India, catering to both domestic and international seekers of yoga and meditation experiences.
