Rupali Ganguly Prefers Goa After Maldives Holiday: “Nothing Is Better Than India”

Actor Rupali Ganguly recently travelled to the Maldives for a family holiday with her husband, son and mother, documenting parts of the trip in a YouTube vlog. The Anupamaa actor shared glimpses of their stay, family moments and experiences during the vacation, including a seaplane ride that appeared to excite her. Despite enjoying the getaway, Rupali later revealed that she had begun feeling homesick and was missing India.
During the vlog, Rupali spoke about her affection for home and her preference for Goa over the Maldives. Reflecting on her experience, she expressed the sentiment that nothing compares with India and indicated that she would choose Goa for a holiday. Her comments came while she was discussing the things she missed during the trip, including familiar surroundings and the comforts associated with home.
Rupali also shared moments with her mother during the vacation. In one part of the vlog, she was seen spending time with her mother in a private pool and helping her learn how to swim. The actor also spoke about her affection for animals, particularly dogs, and mentioned missing her pets while she was away. She noted that she had not seen stray animals during her stay in the Maldives, something she particularly noticed during the trip.

Her preference for familiar Indian comforts was also evident during the journey back home. Soon after boarding the flight, Rupali and her family began eating homemade theplas. She connected the moment with the familiarity of Indian food and family habits, while also recalling that her mother often carries plenty of food when travelling. During the holiday itself, she was pleasantly surprised to find Indian breakfast options such as idli, chutney and poha at the hotel.
Rupali Ganguly has been a familiar face on Indian television for years, first gaining widespread popularity as Monisha Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. She later became a household name through Anupamaa, which emerged as one of television’s most popular shows during the pandemic. Her latest travel vlog offered viewers a more personal glimpse into her family holiday and her reaction to being away from home.
While the Maldives provided a different holiday experience, Rupali’s comments showed her strong preference for the familiarity of India, from Goa and Indian food to her pets and family routines. Her remarks came after a vacation that included sightseeing, family time and leisure activities, before the actor and her family returned home with a taste of familiar Indian food waiting for them on the flight.
