Mumbai to Bihar Rush Intensifies: Railways Launch Six Additional Special Trains Between LTT and Chhapra

Bookings now open for new train services connecting Maharashtra and Bihar this festive season.

To manage the rising rush of passengers ahead of the festive season, Central Railway has announced six additional special trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Mumbai, and Chhapra in Bihar. The initiative, running between November 9 and 13, 2025, aims to ease congestion and ensure smoother travel for passengers heading towards eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

According to an official statement from Central Railway, these additional services will operate under Train Nos. 05093/05094, 05095/05096, and 05097/05098. Bookings for all six trains are now open through the official railway booking counters and IRCTC website. The move comes as a timely relief for travelers struggling to secure berths during the high-demand holiday period.

Train No. 05093 will leave Chhapra at 22:45 hours on November 9 and reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus by 13:40 hours on the third day, while its counterpart, Train No. 05094, will depart LTT at 15:55 hours on November 11, arriving in Chhapra at 01:45 hours on the third day. Similarly, Train Nos. 05095 and 05096 will operate on November 10 and 12, and the final pair, 05097 and 05098, will run on November 11 and 13 respectively.

The trains will traverse a common route with key halts at Kalyan, Igatpuri, Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Rani Kamlapati, Bina, Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi, Orai, Kanpur Central, Aishbagh, Badshahnagar, Gomti Nagar, Barabanki, Gonda, Basti, Gorakhpur, Deoria Sadar, and Siwan before terminating at Chhapra. This route connects major junctions across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, ensuring maximum reach for passengers.

Each set of trains will feature a distinct coach composition to meet varying passenger needs. Train Nos. 05093/05094 will offer one AC 2-tier, eight AC 3-tier, seven sleeper, and four general second-class coaches. Meanwhile, the 05095/05096 pair will consist of twelve AC 3-tier, four sleeper, and four second-class chair car coaches. The 05097/05098 pair will include ten AC 3-tier, four sleeper, and four chair car coaches. All special trains will also be equipped with a second seating cum guard’s brake van and one generator van to ensure smooth operations.

Central Railway officials have urged passengers to book tickets early, citing expected heavy demand. These additional services are expected to significantly reduce crowding on regular routes while offering more comfort and convenience for festive travelers between Maharashtra and Bihar.
