A Polish traveller's viral post praises India's luxurious overnight bus experience.
A Polish traveller’s first bus journey in India has gone viral after she shared her unexpectedly positive experience of an 11-hour overnight trip, highlighting comfort, cleanliness and service standards that she said exceeded her expectations. The traveller, Dominika Patalas-Kalra, who has been living in India for some time, documented her journey to Delhi in a social media post that quickly drew widespread attention.
According to her post, she initially approached the long-distance bus ride with concern, unsure about how comfortable or manageable the journey would be. However, she said her experience turned out to be smooth and well-organised, beginning with an on-time departure and a clean, spacious seating arrangement that helped set a positive tone for the trip.
Dominika noted that passengers were provided with a gift bag shortly after boarding, which included essentials such as wet tissues, a dental kit, snacks and juice. She also described how blankets were provided, allowing travellers to rest comfortably during the night portion of the journey, which she said made the experience more relaxed than expected.

The journey also included a scheduled stop in the evening where passengers were served a multi-course meal. She described the food as satisfying and highlighted traditional items such as gulab jamun included in the dinner spread. A breakfast box was also provided the next morning, ensuring passengers had meals throughout the trip without needing to make additional arrangements.
She further praised the cleanliness and comfort of the bus seating, adding that the overall organisation of the journey stood out to her. One of the most notable aspects she emphasised was punctuality, stating that the bus arrived at its destination on time, which contributed significantly to her positive impression of the service.
The post has sparked discussion on social media, with users reacting positively to her account and praising the portrayal of India’s transport services in a favourable light. While some highlighted it as an example of improving travel standards, others pointed to how such experiences help challenge stereotypes about long-distance travel in the country, especially when services are well-managed and customer-focused.
