Celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor has shared an easy, nutrient-rich instant jowar dosa recipe that requires no fermentation, positioning it as a quick breakfast option for people looking to combine convenience with healthier eating habits. The recipe was shared via his social media post and has drawn attention for its simplicity and nutritional benefits.
Millets, particularly jowar (sorghum), have seen a surge in popularity in recent years due to their high fibre content and suitability for modern dietary preferences. In his post, Kapoor highlighted that many people often skip traditional dosa preparation because of the long fermentation process, and this instant version is designed to solve that problem while retaining nutritional value.
The key ingredients in the recipe include jowar flour, semolina, curd, baking soda and salt, along with ghee for cooking and coconut chutney for serving. The batter is prepared by blending jowar flour, semolina and curd with water into a smooth mixture before seasoning and cooking it on a hot pan.

According to the method shared, the batter is spread thinly on a heated cast-iron pan, cooked on medium flame and finished with a drizzle of ghee to enhance flavour and texture. The dosa is then served hot with coconut chutney, making it suitable for breakfast or light meals.
Kapoor also emphasised the nutritional advantages of jowar, noting that it is rich in dietary fibre, which supports digestion and helps maintain satiety for longer periods.
