'Hunkkaar' Trailer Features Aneet Padda’s Accusation Against Cult Leader

Fatima Sana Shaikh, Aneet Padda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub are set to headline the upcoming series Hunkkaar: The Roar, whose trailer was unveiled on Thursday. The series follows 17-year-old Meenu Rawat, whose allegation against a revered cult leader known as 'Baapji' sets a police investigation in motion. The case quickly becomes complicated as authorities examine the circumstances surrounding the accusation and the influence of the powerful figure involved.

According to the trailer, Meenu accuses Baapji of sexually assaulting her, prompting the authorities to investigate the allegation. JioHotstar shared the trailer announcement on social media, describing the series as a story about the clash between a young woman's voice and the devotion surrounding a revered figure. Hunkkaar: The Roar has been produced by Birla Studios and Applause Entertainment in association with Purple Pebble Pictures, with Mangata Films also involved in the production. The series is directed by Karan D Kapadia, Nitya Mehra and Heeraz Marfatia.

The cast also includes Raghubir Yadav and Ram Kapoor in key roles, alongside several other actors. The series is positioned as an investigative drama that looks at the intersection of power, public perception and the justice process. By placing the investigation against a backdrop of intense media scrutiny, the show explores how competing narratives can influence the course of a high-profile case.
