Gaurav Khanna Supports Wife Akanksha on Lock Upp, Clarifies Divorce Status

Actor Gaurav Khanna appeared on the reality show Lock Upp to support his wife Akanksha Chamola after her comments about their separation triggered widespread speculation about the status of their marriage. During an emotional interaction, Gaurav clarified that the couple is not legally divorced and said no petition has been signed to formally end their marriage.

Before Gaurav’s appearance, Akanksha had spoken to fellow contestants about her marriage, sexuality and personal relationships. She said that during nine years of marriage, she had remained committed to her husband and had not pursued a romantic or sexual relationship with another woman. She also stressed that there had been no two-timing during their relationship.

Gaurav entered the show after host Farah Khan asked the contestants to return to their cells for the arrival of the first visitor. His meeting with Akanksha began with light-hearted exchanges before turning emotional. Referring to the public reaction to her revelations, Gaurav joked about the controversy she had created and said he had come to the show to support her.

The actor told Akanksha that she should have waited until matters between them became official before discussing the separation publicly. However, he maintained that he supported her participation in the reality show and praised the way she was playing the game. He also joked about the scale of the reaction, noting that the programme was available to viewers across 196 countries.

During the conversation, Gaurav recalled that July marked the anniversary of the couple’s first meeting on July 30, 2015. As he became emotional and told Akanksha that he was proud of her, the two discussed the status of their relationship. Gaurav said they had spoken about separation but stressed that no divorce petition had been signed and nothing was legally official.

Akanksha responded that the formal process had not progressed because Gaurav had left to participate in Khatron Ke Khiladi. The exchange clarified that while the couple has been dealing with marital difficulties and separation, they remain legally married. Gaurav’s appearance also showed his continued support for Akanksha as she competes on Lock Upp despite the intense public attention surrounding their relationship.
