Shilpa Shinde Targets Akanksha Chamola Over Husband Gaurav Khanna on Lock Upp

Actor Shilpa Shinde has stirred fresh tension inside the Lock Upp house after claiming that fellow contestant Akanksha Chamola was on the reality show because of her husband, actor Gaurav Khanna. Shilpa, known for her role in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai, entered the Netflix reality show and quickly began confronting contestants and commenting on issues inside the house.

During a conversation with Shreya Kalra and Madhuri Jain, Shilpa said she had told Akanksha that she was on the show because of Gaurav. Questioning Akanksha’s public recognition, Shilpa asked whether people had seen her before her association with her husband. The comment was later relayed to Akanksha by fellow contestant Sufi Motiwala, prompting her to smile and say that she was being singled out.

The following morning, Akanksha admitted that if there was anyone inside the house with whom she could end up having a confrontation, it would be Shilpa. She later told other contestants that she felt Shilpa did not like her. Akanksha also claimed that Shilpa had entered the show to provoke arguments and make accusations, setting the stage for a possible rivalry between the two contestants.

While tension appeared to be developing between Shilpa and Akanksha, Shilpa seemed to form an early bond with Shreya on her first day inside the house. The contrasting interactions have added to the changing relationships among contestants as the second season progresses. Akanksha’s personal life has also remained a major topic of discussion since the premiere episode of the reality show.

Akanksha confirmed during the premiere that she and Gaurav were divorcing, saying their differing views on having children contributed to their separation. She told fellow contestants that she had never felt a strong maternal instinct during their marriage and gradually realised that motherhood was not for her. According to Akanksha, Gaurav wanted to have a family, while she felt unable to give him the future he desired.

Gaurav and Akanksha married on November 24, 2016, in Kanpur, Gaurav’s hometown. Akanksha has previously appeared in television shows including Santoshi Maa, Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Crime Patrol. Her revelations about the divorce and Shilpa’s remarks about her presence on Lock Upp have now placed her among the most discussed contestants of the season, with viewers closely watching how the apparent tension between the two develops.
